Colt Cadets Seeking Caption Heads For Brass & Percussion

The Colts Youth Organization has a great opportunity for a couple rising stars in the drum corps activity to take on leadership positions within the Colt Cadets instructional team. We are looking for both brass and percussion caption heads for the 2025 season. We are looking for people who:

• Work effectively in a team environment
• Have an understanding of DCI Open Class and how CC fits in the drum corps ecosystem
• Marched at least one season with a high-level DCI, WGI, or BOA ensemble

The ideal candidate would be located within the greater Midwest region. But we can also bring in a staff member from a further distance, if necessary, for Colt Cadets preseason events in Dubuque, Iowa, beginning in February. If a candidate is within a reasonable driving distance to a Colts camp location, we would encourage you to attend these events, as many Colt Cadets members begin their journey with us by attending a Colts camp.

Brass Caption Head

The Colt Cadets brass caption head position is an opportunity for an established educator to work alongside other like-minded professionals in creating an incredible learning experience for students in the Colt Cadets brass section. The brass caption head is responsible for establishing the pedagogy for CC brass students as well as working with the corps director on rehearsal plans and schedules. Percussion Caption Head

Similar to the brass caption head, the percussion caption head is responsible for establishing the pedagogy for CC percussion students as well as working with the corps director on rehearsal plans and schedules. In addition, writing music for the battery and/or front ensemble can be paired with this opportunity for the right candidate. COLT CADETS PERCUSSION CAPTION HEAD JOB DESCRIPTION & APPLICATION

The Colt Cadets participate in both Open Class and World Class events throughout the season, performing about 20 times each summer, culminating with DCI Open Class Championships in Marion, Indiana and DCI World Class Championships at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianpolis, Indiana. Our staff members bring experience from across the activity. From college educators to middle school band directors, the CC staff does an incredible job of understanding the needs of each member.
