The Colts returned from their 2023 tour to find both operating and capital needs grants to assist with programming for this year and beyond. We are humbled by the continued support for the arts and nonprofits throughout the Dubuque community.

CITY OF DUBUQUE ARTS & CULTURE OPERATING SUPPORT GRANT

The Dubuque City Council recently approved recommendations from the City’s Arts & Cultural Affairs Advisory Commission to award $250,000 in operating support grant funds to 21 of Dubuque’s 501(c)(3) arts and culture organization and $35,000 to fund six Special Projects grants to cultivate unique and innovative creative arts and culture experiences for the community.

The Operating Support grant program is designed to support nonprofit organizations contributing to cultural vibrancy and community resiliency by focusing on publicly accessible arts, arts education, and cultural heritage programming. Applicants must demonstrate a record of financial and management stability, show evidence of a commitment to excellence as an arts and culture leader, and attest to how diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) learning and practices are integrated into the applicant’s planning, programming, and organizational development. The Colts were honored to receive an Operating Support Grant of $22,343. Since 2006, the City of Dubuque has awarded over $400,000 to the Colts.

According to an Americans for the Arts (AFTA) 2012 study, Dubuque’s nonprofit arts and culture sector generates $47.2 million annually in economic activity for our community and contributes $5 million in local and state government revenues.

Our thanks go out to the City of Dubuque’s continued support of our mission!
