Colt Cadets Announce Cameron Kotovsky As New Director

The Colts Youth Organization is pleased to announce Cameron Kotovsky as the director of the Colt Cadets.
Cameron holds a bachelor's in Music Education from Illinois State University and a master's in Music with a focus on Wind Conducting from Northern Illinois University. He has taught at Easton Valley High School, Coal City High School, Northern Illinois University, and Davenport Central High School. He has also worked with several other programs including Naperville Central High School, Bloomington High School, Streator Township High School, Bolingbrook High School, and previously with the Colt Cadets. Cameron currently serves as an orchestra teacher in the Rock Island School District while working with The Pride of Rock Island Marching Band as brass/visual staff member. When he's not teaching, he also judges marching band competitions and solo/ensemble/large group contests across the state of Illinois.
Cameron currently resides in Geneseo, Illinois, with his wife Jamie Kotovsky and their son Lucas. Jamie is the band director of Geneseo High School.
"We are excited to have Cameron join our team," said Colts Executive Director Jeff MacFarlane. "He is a great communicator and proven recruiter. The Colt Cadets membership and entire Colts organization will benefit from Cameron's leadership."
Not only has Cameron worked with several programs, but he has an impressive track record of accomplishments. He was a quarterfinalist for the 2017 Grammy National Music Educator of the Year Award and a 2017 Mockingbird Foundation Grant recipient.
Cameron expressed his excitement to join Colt Cadets, "I love this organization and I am honored to be a part of this dynamic team. I look forward to growing the corps in membership and status as I work with an incredible group of educators.”
