Many students in the DCI Open Class group spent the past few months refining their skills for an audition with the Colts or other World Class corps throughout the drum corps activity. And many new members are expected to come to Colt Cadets through that audition process. But now is their time!

Colt Cadets are open to any student aged 12-18 who enjoys musical performance and dance. There is no experience necessary to become a member, and there is no obligation to join by attending an Open House Rehearsal to see what we’re all about. The group is made up of brass students (trumpet, mellophone — like a marching French horn, baritone and tuba), percussionists (snare, tenors, bass drum, cymbals and front ensemble), and color guard which involves both dance and spinning a flag. For those with experience, the staff at Colt Cadets can push you to achieve at a higher level in your performance career, and they will prepare you to move up into a World Class corps, if that’s your drum corps dream.

Colt Cadets will perform in 15 competitions in July and early August plus the DCI Open Class Championships in Marion, Indiana, and the DCI World Class Championships at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
