Corps Directors Take On Leadership Roles With Drum Corps International

At the DCI Annual Meetings held virtually on January 6-8, 2022, Colts Director Vicki MacFarlane and Colt Cadets Director Rich Waddington were elected to leadership positions within the organization.

Vicki was elected to a three-year term on the DCI board of directors. This is not her first time in the room, so to speak, as she was Open Class liaison to the board when she served as chair of the Open Class Advisory Committee from 2007-2012. More recently as Colts director, Vicki chaired DCI’s Membership Affairs Committee, served on the Governance, Competition and InStep Committees, and chaired the March On Task Force that worked through the pandemic to chart the course for the activity’s return to the field for last summer’s Celebration tour.

Rich joined the Colts organization full-time following the 2019 season as Colt Cadets director while also handling accounting duties. This will be Rich’s first opportunity to serve in a DCI role as he was elected to a two-year term on the DCI Open Class Advisory Committee. The OCAC discusses matters specifically related to DCI’s Open Class corps, and they evaluate new and emerging groups that would like to gain access to the DCI summer tour.
