Every summer, the Colts Youth Organization sponsors four shows during the Drum Corps International Summer Tour. These events are coordinated primarily by local band booster clubs with assistance from the Colts Office.
Kicking off a stretch of three shows in six days, Celebration In Brass returns to Johnston, Iowa, but this year in the brand new Johnston High School Stadium. The show, taking place on Wednesday, July 11, will feature seven of the top drum corps from around the country.
Dubuque's Summer Tradition returns to Dalzell Field at Dubuque Senior High School for Music On The March on Friday, July 13. The Colts welcome nine corps from around the country to this year's show, including the seven-time DCI World Champion The Cavaliers. This year's Music On The March will also feature an alumni tailgate on Friday night before the show at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, just a few blocks from Dalzell!
Returning to the the College Boulevard Activity Center at Olathe Northwest High School is this year's Brass Impact. A total of eight corps will be in attendance at this year's show, including the 2016 DCI World Champion Bluecoats.
Rounding out this summer's Open Class tour is the fourth annual Tournament of Drums at Kingston Stadium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Friday, August 3. Seven of the country's top Open Class corps will compete in this event, including the 2017 DCI Open Class Champion Vanguard Cadets. This show is also one of the final events leading into the 2018 Open Class Championships, held just three days later in Michigan City, Indiana.
