Every summer, the Colts Youth Organization sponsors four shows during the Drum Corps International Summer Tour. These events are coordinated primarily by local band booster clubs with assistance from the Colts Office.
Kicking off a stretch of three shows in six days, Celebration In Brass returns to Ankeny, Iowa, the historic home for the event. The show, taking place on Wednesday, July 10, will feature eight of the top drum corps from around the country, including the 2018 DCI World Champion Santa Clara Vanguard.
Dubuque's Summer Tradition returns to Dalzell Field at Dubuque Senior High School for Music On The March on Friday, July 12. The Colts welcome eight corps from around the country to this year's show, including the seven-time DCI World Champion The Cavaliers. This year's Music On The March will also feature an alumni tailgate on Friday night before the show at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, just a few blocks from Dalzell!
Returning to the the College Boulevard Activity Center at Olathe Northwest High School is this year's Brass Impact on Monday, July 15. A total of six corps will be in attendance at this year's show, including the 2016 DCI World Champion Bluecoats.
Rounding out this summer's Open Class tour is the fifth annual Tournament of Drums. The 2019 event will move from Kingston Stadium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as they install new field turf this summer. Stay tuned for the confirmed venue for this year's show on Friday, August 2. Seven of the country's top Open Class corps will compete in this event. This show is also one of the final events leading into the 2019 Open Class Championships, held just three days later in Marion, Indiana.
