The Colts are pleased to announce the appointment of Bret Kuhn as program coordinator. Bret served last season as a consultant and advisor for the percussion program. "The wealth and breadth of his experience and success at the highest levels of music and marching will be tremendous for our program and most importantly our members," said Greg Orwoll, Executive Director. "We are thrilled and excited to have him on board with us!" BIO: Bret graduated with a Bachelors degree from Northeast Missouri State University where he studied percussion with Dan Petersen. He was a member of the Disney World All-American Band in 1980 and then in 1981 became a member of The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps. He began teaching the World Champion Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps in 1984 and served as Caption Head as well as Percussion Arranger through 2005. During this tenure, they won six World Championships and five High Percussion Awards. In 2006, Bret joined the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps and spent three years as a design and percussion consultant. Bret is the Percussion Coordinator for the Prospect High School music program from Mt. Prospect, Illinois. He is a consultant and percussion arranger for numerous high schools around the country, including LD Bell High School from Hurst, Texas, who was the 2007 Bands of America Grand National Champion. He is an active Percussion Arranger/Clinician for numerous colleges including adjunct faculty at Northern Illinois University and Vandercook College of Music. He also does arranging for the Arizona State University marching band. Bret arranges for one of the top marching groups in Japan, Aimachi from Nagoya, Japan. Aimachi was the 2006 and 2008 Champion at the All Japan Championships. Bret is a member of ASCAP and has written articles for publication in Percussive Notes Magazine and currently serves on the Board of Directors for PAS. As a clinician, Bret has traveled extensively across the United States, Japan and Europe presenting clinics for Yamaha, Zildjian, Remo and Innovative Percussion.
