Colts Present Their 2023 Production Where The Heart Is

The 2023 Colts invite you to embrace the warmth and authenticity of their 60th anniversary production, Where The Heart Is.

This year's program embodies the heartfelt concept that, regardless of one's location or companions, the deepest affection and emotional pull always stem from family and home. It signifies that home is not merely a physical structure but a place where relationships, warmth, and memories converge — a sanctuary where one finds a sense of belonging and fulfillment alongside the people they hold dear.

For some, home is a tangible space with a specific address, where they feel comfort and serenity. Others perceive home as a state of mind, a profound sentiment of being precisely where they are meant to be. Moreover, home can be personified through a special individual or a close-knit group, those who genuinely understand and uplift you. Irrespective of the definition, the essence of home lies in feeling the unwavering love and support of those around them

Following a successful 2022 season, the Colts are eager to build upon that momentum and deliver a captivating experience to their audiences. Brass arranger Michael Miller expresses his enthusiasm, stating, "This year's production is incredibly sophisticated, encompassing several emotional and intellectual layers that are certain to resonate with audiences of all ages."

Program Coordinator Don Click adds, "Crafting the 2023 rendition of The Colts has been an exhilarating endeavor. We aim to challenge ourselves by infusing finesse and elegance into our performance while maintaining a strong emotional connection with the audience. I believe fans will be able to relate to the corps members in a fresh and exciting way this year. It's bound to be a highly entertaining experience!"

In terms of visual authenticity, the production will incorporate symbolic elements such as large telephone poles, directional signs, and porch stoops. These elements serve as powerful representations of human connection and finding where your heart belongs.

The soundtrack for Where The Heart Is takes audiences on an emotional journey through the sounds of various artists Motley Crue, Pat Metheny Group, The Cinematic Orchestra, Randy Newman, Mason Williams, and Pink Floyd. Each musical selection enhances the emotional impact of the performance, creating an immersive, melodic, and memorable experience for all.
