The Midwest will experience some wintery weather this weekend but all indications now are that the weather will permit travel on Friday and Sunday afternoons. Dubuque is situated in an area of Iowa expected to have light snow beginning Friday evening and continuing through Saturday afternoon.
Those traveling from the north and northwest of Dubuque may face additional accumulations. Please make camp attendance decisions based on YOUR direction of travel. Depending on your point of origin, you may face more difficult road conditions, and you should plan accordingly.
If any student or parent does not feel safe at any time traveling to Dubuque, please stay home. Your position within the audition process will not be jeopardized if you cannot attend camp because of the weather. There will be positions available in every section of the drum corps at the January rehearsal weekend. IF YOU DECIDE NOT TO ATTEND, please submit another RSVP via the Colts website so we know your plans have changed.
With all of that said, our intent is to go ahead with the Colts weekend rehearsal on Dec. 16-18 at Roosevelt Middle School in Dubuque. Camp registration begins at 6:30 p.m. with the camp beginning at 8:00 p.m. with a full member meeting. If you need a little extra time in your travel, travel safely and arrive at camp when you are able.
Students arriving earlier than 6:00 pm should go to the Colts Warehouse at 2300 Twin Valley Drive. Returning students - don't forget to bring your Colts camp tshirt! New students will get their camp shirt at check in. All students should bring a horn or sticks/mallets.
Travel safe. Take your time. And keep in touch if your plans change. The parent meeting tonight will be held at 8:45 pm as planned. The Sunday performance will take place at 2:30 pm in the Roosevelt gymnasium. Please join us!
